Deccan Odyssey – Hidden Treasures Of Gujarat

As you assemble at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, you would be traditionally welcomed and would be presented a traditional drink. After the check in formalities, you would be escorted to your cabins. The journey of Deccan Odyssey starts as it departs for Mumbai.

Visit the cultural hotspot of Gujarat as you have your breakfast at the luxury train. The first destination would be of Champaner – Pavagadh National Park. The par is famous as it has green swathes of land which is the major attraction among tourist. Thereafter, we would visit the Jama Masjid mosque which was built in 15th century. Have lunch and then visit the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum and Laxmi Vilas Palace. In the evening, enjoy the folk performance at the palace. The train would today enter the colorful state of Gujarat. As you have your breakfast at the train, disembark to proceed towards the Jain temples situated at the hilltop. As the train halts at Sasan Gir – the Gir Forest Park and the Wildlife sanctuary. The sanctuary is the habitat of Asiatic lions. This would be a guided excursion as a wildlife professional would always be there during the tour. Thereafter, we would move to Somnath temple, but before reaching there we would enjoy a dance show at the Hotel. The Somnath temple built during the 4th century is amongst the most popular Hindu mythological sites of India. The temple is also one of the 12 Jyotirlinga of the Lord Shiva. The day begins as the Deccan odyssey halts at Viramgam Station. After breakfast at the train, we would move to the desert of Rann of Kutch. As you visit this part of India, you would know how diverse India is in terms of landscapes. Enjoy the white swathes of land as you have a look at the desert of the exotic Gujarat. Then we would proceed to a jungle safari at the Wild Ass Sanctuary. Spot exotic species of birds and the exclusive wild asses, to which this sanctuary is home. After lunch, we would now go for a village safari and gather information about the local lifestyle. Return to the train and have your luxury Dinner and stay.

Visit a city which is known for its forts and lakes and the heritage sites it is home to. Your Deccan odyssey luxurious train would be halting at Patan today. As you have a scrumptious breakfast, disembark your train as you go and visit the Sun Temple at Modhera. Visit the temple complex of the Sun God, a wonder in sandstone, and observe the 108 shrines of the place. Thereafter we would visit the Rani Vav, which dates back to 11th century and is the biggest well architecture in Gujarat and visit the beautiful Patola sarees in Gujarat. Now return to the train and enjoy as the train move to Nashik.

Today we would halt at the holy city of Nashik and with the day beginning, as you have your breakfast disembark as you visit the Jain and Buddhist cave temples in India, Pandu Leni. Visit these caves, some of which is as old as 1st Century BC. There are other caves also which belong to the 13th century. This state as religious as it can be is also the largest wine producing cities in India. Now we would visit the Grover Zampa vineyards, one of the finest wine producers of the city of Nashik. Taste the best of different types of Wine and taste Chenin, chardonnay and Shiraz grapes which is extracted from traditional old methods. Enjoy the evening as you take a stroll at the ghats of Godavari. Return to the Deccan odyssey, settle in and relax.
