After having deliciousbreakfast we take you to a road trip covering the magnificent architectural remnants of a rich South Indian history- This is Kanchi, a city of thousand temples. Kanchi (now called Kanchipuram) was the capital of the early Cholas dynasty during the 2nd century BC. Kanchi was a major seat of Tamil learning besides an important place of pilgrimage for all the major religions in India -Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. In addition to the monumental beauty of its temples, the city is also known for its silk weavers who settled here four centuries back to make Kanchipuram. Over Night Stay In the Hotel in Mahablipuram
This day will start with a hearty breakfast which will be followed by sightseeing of Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram, 70 kms from Kanchipuram, enjoying the enchanting drive-way south of Madras leading to coast-line where Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) is located to explore the relics of the ancient-most port of and ruins of city besides the monumental remains of ancient Pallavas dynastic rulers. The pallavas created many marvelous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, rock-cut temples and Rathas (Chariots).
Morning after breakfast at the hotel will be followed by transfer to Tanjore via road. Tanjore is famous for the temples like Brihadeshwara Temple, Ranganath Temple etc. Thanjavur is the cultural capital of this region. It is the home of Carnatic music and dance. It is famous for the Brahadeeswarar Temple, constructed more than a thousand years ago. SaraswatiMahal Library, The Art Gallery, and SangeethaMahal are also of interest. The land surrounding Thanjavur is known as the granary of Tamil Nadu, blessed as it is by the waters of Kaveri River.
Morning after breakfast proceed to Swamimalai which is situated at a distance of 36 kms away from Tanjore. Here you will be taken to a specialisedAyurvedic resort. Rest of the day will be free for you to relax and spend your time in activities of your choice. After lunch proceed to Swamimalai.
Morning after delicious breakfast Spend four daysin the resort away from the hustle-bustle of metro life. A typical day will include yoga and meditation session, herbal aromatic massages, spa treatments, properly prepared healthy meals etc.In between the day you can go to out for excursion. Evening enjoy some cultural performances and traditional games at the resort. Swamimalai is a panchayat town near Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the banks of river Cauvery, on the road connecting Kumbakonam and Thiruvaiyaru. It is most famous for the being one of the six "PadaiVeedugal" (Battle Camps) of the Lord Murugan. The name of the town means ‘God’s mountain’. It has the only school that teaches the art (craft) of making bronze icons. Like the rest of this part of the Thanjavur District it is mainly an agricultural town producing rice and sugar cane.
Morning after breakfast On day eleventh, drive to convey you to Madurai. Madurai has the extremely famous Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the worship of Parvati. On the way there will be a stopover at Trichy which stands on picturesque Kaveri’s banks. On reaching, hotel check in after which visit to the Meenakshi Temple, sacred Rameshwaram sea, ThirumalaiNayak Palace, Gandhi Museum etc on schedule. Peaceful night stay at Madurai
Morning after breakfast in Madurai. Proceed for Sightseeing tourist spots which are scheduled on this day are MariammanTeppakulam, Vaigai dam, Gandhi museum. ThrirumalaiNayak Palace and the beautiful MeenakshiAgain proceed to visit the Temples. We take part in the prayer ceremonies taking place in the Meenakshi Temple. Come back to the hotel for night stay. Meenakshi Temple: –Meenakshi Amman Temple is its crowning glory. The temple structure with its concentric squares and high walled enclosures is a lesson for students of architecture. The temple is square shaped and a series of concentric streets with names from Tamil months surround the structure. The entire temple occupies around 45 acres, with each side having an entrance of its own. Madurai Meenakshi temple’s history is as old as the history of the city itself.
Morning after breakfast Breakfast at the hotel in Madurai where you will be driven to the airport to board a flight to Chennai. Upon arrival in Chennai proceed to designated Hotel, Relax in the hotel and leter free to explore the local market .Rest of the day free to relax and chill out at the heavenly Marina Beach. Scrumptious dinner and overnight stay at the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
Morning after breakfast proceed to Chennai airport you will be conveyed to Chennai airport from where you board the flight back home. We promise you sweet memories throughout this trip.
